As an artist, I am continuously drawn to the dualities of our natural atmosphere—the way the exact same sky can shift from a fierce, dramatic spectacle of light to a quiet, comforting sanctuary of peace. Celestial Mirage II was painted as the necessary, grounding whisper to the electric shout of Celestial Mirage I.
By utilizing a larger vertical canvas layout, my goal was to emphasize a sense of immense, unburdened vastness and slow-moving time. The creative process in my studio relied on applying ultra-thin, delicate layers of high-grade acrylics to achieve a lightweight, airy texture across the cloud banks. Rather than bursting forward from the center, the light source emerges softly from the lower right corner as a subtle, diffused wash of pale golds and warm whites. This intentional positioning suggests the quiet arrival of a fresh dawn or the peaceful setting of a twilight sky. It stands as an exquisite visual escape—a dedicated window of serenity painted to offer a daily moment of deep rest and quiet, soulful contemplation amidst the noise of our busy worlds.
