As an artist, I am continuously fascinated by the invisible, thriving life cycles that exist just beneath our notice—the sudden bloom of forest moss, the rich texture of wet earth, and the sparks of light catching dew drops in the undergrowth. Quiet Joy is a visual exploration of those hidden natural sanctuaries.
I chose a diptych format because it mirrors the dualities we find in nature: two completely independent canvases that speak the exact same emotional language when brought together. The creative journey in my studio was highly intuitive, leaning heavily on the erratic, beautiful laws of fluid chemistry. By layering fluid, high-pigment acrylics, the colors marbles into intricate cell networks, microscopic lines, and glowing gold pools that float across a dense, dark expanse. The inclusion of radiant orange spots acts like sudden bursts of life and warmth cutting through a quiet forest shadow. Encased in matching elegant 11.25" x 13.5" wooden display frames, this unified pair acts as a grounding, peaceful sanctuary on your walls, inviting you to look closer and discover a new story within its microscopic details.
