My goal was to create a comforting sanctuary scene rich in atmospheric mood and textural counterpoints. The creative process inside my studio combined smooth, delicate water glazes with highly precise brushwork. I used soft, muted pastel tones and a loose blending style to render the distant, mist-shrouded hills, creating a deep sense of open space. In direct contrast, the wooden planks of the boat are rendered with sharp, structural realism, highlighting its aged patina.
